Three cruise ships currently off Fremantle that the State government will not permit to land in port. Good on them I say.

I heard on the TV news that WA will permit WA passengers to disembark in WA (and thence to be quarantined at Rottnest Island), but Australians from other states will have to remain on board. This country really is screwed up. COVID-19 is just another reason to abolish the states.

That is screwed up Dorian . That could be a death sentence for the people left on board.

They all have to come off ASAP, take them in security convoys to the empty hotels & lock the doors, better to do it now before it gets out of hand & costs a lot more lives.

would their travel insurance cover the cost?
i remember a few years ago people where air lifted out of Lebanon when hostilities broke out an most where complaining when they got a bill from the government( about a thousand dollars a head)

If travel insurance was taken out after 23 Jan more than likely not. Probably not for a declared pandemic anyway.
Every person we keep out of ICU will save hundreds of thousands of dollars so it make hotel accommodation look cheap.
So what if we pay for foreigners here. Other countries will be paying for Austrailian there. There are swings & roundabouts!

if they left on a cruise after 23/01/2020 (i am assuming that is when the problem became public knowledge) they are part of the problem if there is no place for them to be isolated then they should have stay on board till a solution is found ,
apparently hotel accommodation is not a perfect answer due to carpets ,curtains other furnishings
would it be any different being isolated on a cruise ship or locked in a hotel room?
look what happened in sydney we don't need any more of that kind of mess nearly 10% of the states cases and growing
they are using a hotel in sydney never informed the other resident in the apartments above one who was a kidney transplant patient(stand to be corrected) with low immunity issues
send them to christmas island they are supposedly set up to handle a situation like this

It was tongue in cheek but has taken on a life of its own!
