Where or how do campers hang/position their solar blanket for optimal performance?

Welcome to the forum, Suzieb
Although I do not have solar blankets
I have seen other travellers
Lay them flat on the ground
Prop one end up, and tie it to the back of a chair
Prop one end up on two sticks
Lay them across their bonnet (if towing a caravan)
I have never actually seen anyone, with hooks on their vehicle/caravan/awning, so that they can hook their solar blanket on
I think that the important thing, is to position it, so that the sun is shining on it

Make sure there isn't a shadow on a tiny portion of the panel, you won't get any current.

We just lay our 250W blanket on the ground or, if the car happens to be facing north, across the windscreen. On a pretty bright, sunny day the batteries are at "float" before lunch.
Another thing with solar panels especially with blankets is to keep them clean. Much more than our solid panels they collect dirt. Lots of dirt.

Mine fits between the rails of the Territory and align it east/west, for good results.
