We finally sorted everything out and would like to introduce you to Disco Duck and the Cuddy. Setting off on our odyssey on 24 Jan. We are at Plan F due to fires and water. Starting in the Riverina rather than the south coast.

Would be very interested to know how the Disco goes. I love them but a bit hesitant to take the plunge.

Hi Jade 46. We took a year to decide which vehicle would suit our needs over at least 15 years and it was not just for towing 3.5 tonnes. It had to be comfortable and fuel efficient but not ride or look like a truck. We always planned to buy a new vehicle and we compared Rangers, Landcruisers, Amaroks. The Disco was really an afterthought because we did not think we could afford one but as it turned out, once you option up some of the others it costs more that the disco. We settled on the 2015 Disco and she has been perfect, not cheap, but we have been fortunate to get what what we paid for. We know quite a few other disco owners who say exactly the same thing. There's a bit of a myth our there that you will be stranded out in the regional areas (or even more remote places) if you need repairs and parts. Not true. If something happens out there in the wide blue yonder you ring the Australia-wide LR service and support number to find the nearest dealer authorised to perform repairs and, if necessary, LR will arrange to have your vehicle taken to the nearest dealer. They have an excellent reputation and really hold their value. Spending time on researching is worth it but you need to prioritise your criteria.
Good luck.

Hi Ian,
Did you buy it new because I am not sure it was available as far back as 2011MY. If it was, the details should have been given to you when you purchased your Disco. Our car has the phone number on the drivers' side window. Check with your dealer. NRMA provides the same service with the road side assist option and I am sure other insurers probably offer a similar service for a fee.
Have fun out there.

I don't tow, have Freelander & petrol, couldn't be happier. It you haven't got TPMS, get the CCF codes re-set & get internal TPMS. Cheaper option & more flexible get external TPMS.
