The late, great Lou Richards once tipped a VFL side to win ( probably Collingwood), saying if they didn't, he would cut the whole MCG with a pair of scissors. He duly fronted up on the following Monday with the scissors and the newspaper reporters and cameras. Not sure how much he actually cut though
