We are very happy with our Aeropress. Had it for about 4 years, last year we got a replacement outer part of the press & a replacement rubber gasket.
We have the stainless Able filter in standard & fine, have been using the fine filter.
Also have a couple of the Aero mesh filters. It's good if doing 3 or 4 cups in one go, easier to press through. It is more delicate & one of ours started to separate (photo right side, at about 2 o'clock position).
We use the Able fine filter 99% of the time. We have a spare one but the first one is still ok (photo, left side).
Quick tips: use top quality beans & grind them, we find ground very fine is better, but obviously more work by hand.
Pre heat cups & never use boiling water in the coffee, any coffee, even instant coffee!
If we can, we use cream, failing that we use powdered milk as our fridge is very small, not as nice but after a week you get used to it.
Use a ceramic grinder & as smaller diameter as possible, easier to hold grinding by hand. Over the years we have noticed the envious looks while in remote places, this alone is almost worth it!
But after soaking stainless steel etched filter in vinegar & again in bicarbonate soda as suggested by coffee buffs, neither worked.
I use the air compressor to blow out the holes, worked brilliantly.
Best to have the filter against the Aeropress base or the filter will crease as I found out later. Fortunately not too much damage.
But as good as new.

We use an aeropress daily at home, so it was a no-brainer for us to use it while camping. We camp with several people, and we all take our coffee differently. Even my husband and I take our coffee differently. Each person makes their cup how they like it, and there's no waste.
just got one of these and looking for tips and tricks
Have a read through this thread, you may well pick up a few tips.
As others say, the key is good quality, freshly roasted coffee beans, ground just prior use.

I have no idea why I didn't think of this before.
