Has anyone travelled with 2 cats? We travel with our small dog but as yet not with the cats. It is becoming increasingly harder to get cat sitters. We want to do a 4 week trip and thinking of taking cats with us. We have boarded them once and they both came home sick so wont do that again. Thanks

We have 2 cats and been on the road 3 years.
19 year old and a 11 month old Manx. They travel in the van, both on leads when outside. Use a harness, not just a collar as the kitten has fallen out of a tree a couple of times, harness will support the full weight.
Need to be wary of dogs not on leads and 1080 baits sometimes.
Otherwise all good, enjoy their company.

We travelled with one cat, (before she passed away from old age), and had no problems
Like Snippy above, we always had her on a harness and lead
We have heard, around the traps, of dogs frightening cats away from the campsite, never to be found again

Having harness and lead could help prevent a CAT astrophe!

We were in lismore and a couple had a cat on a lead for a walk. Telling me they always put it on a lead. Thats good i thought as there are frilly neck lizards everywhere. Anyway, wake up next morning and the couple asked, have you seen our cat, we let it out at 6am for a wander. They left at 10 am without the cat.

Many years ago, when we looking for caravan/camper van/motor home
After the bloke told us that he was a Chef, (he was a Frenchman)
We inspected his camper van, and it had the following sign on the back
I LIKE CATS
THEY TASTE LIKE CHICKEN
My wife went ballistic, the bloke could not get through to her, that it was a joke

I think you will find that Aboriginal people hunt cats for food still up in the North WA. Also it was a common story doing the rounds in the UK in the 50's 60's about Chinese restaurants using cat meat. There wan a Chinese Cafe near me in the 60's was prosecuted for serving up Dog meat as Beef. We used to eat there regularly after the Pub Shut.
