We aren't there currently but Broome is always fairly packed from early June to late August. I would strongly suggest you start ringing up caravan parks to try to make a booking now.

Can be difficult to obtain a booking this time of year, I booked several months ahead in 2018.

I have just spent 10 days at Broomes Gateway Pet Friendly CP. All sites unpowered $30/night or stay 7 pay 6. It is approx 30km out of Broome on Broome Rd. Dogs were no problem.
We ended up there because we were booked in at the Discovery CP for 4 nights. OK for 2 nights then we would have had to move to another site on day 3 and repeat the exercise on day 4. Not on.

Got to agree with Meredith and Umpie 1.
I was there in Aug in 2017 and had a great time but had to move a couple of times before I moved on.
Actually too busy for me although the social contacts were great.
I liked my visit but to be honest I wont go back when it is s busy with nomads.
I might have another look one day but Aus is a big area and I seem to find some good places without having to battle for a camp site.

my advice would be to do Broome in the wet season, magic and no crowds. Had 2 yeaars up there and the best is the wet and the dry is a pain because of all the tourist.

We were in Broome in April this year and October a few years ago, both times the parks were really quiet, maybe 1 in 10 sites taken, prices were considerably cheaper and yet generally everything was open and the weather was really good, warm and sunny. Went through once in July and just kept going, crowds aren't our thing.

The overflow campsite as another option especially if you have a dog. The Gun Club and YMCA are two of the overflow sites check out WikiCamps they are all on there. We have Stayed at the Gate Way about 22kms out of town on the main road in to Broome with our dog its a very good if you have power.
We stayed at Roebuck Roadhouse Caravan Park, out of town.
