Hi Farmhat
Great achievement
Can we assume you and all the people in the pics travelled there on the camel train ??

Well done Joe, great achievement.
As some say, there is no proof without the pics!!
We are hoping to be there in around a week or so. Meeting friends at Forrest Beach for a week then up we go.
Question time.... Did you take your van, if not where did you leave it. And what are the roads like, we were told today that there are 3 graders constantly on the go trying to keep the road reasonable. Did the car travel ok?
Thanks
Alana

Thanks for the kind words.
Jaahn, I think most of those people in the photos were on some tag along tour. For the whole time at the tip there was a constant stream of people coming and going. Apparently several hundred people each day.
Relax-n, left the van at Cairns, car no problems. I see Cyclops has put up a good road report. I agree that the rainforest section north of Bamiga is a bit dangerous. The road is quite narrow there, sometimes just wide enough for mirrors with tight windey corners that you cannot see around. Coming face to face with kamikaze drivers around these corners is no fun. Often someone has to back up.
Made it!
A few pics from the very top of Cape York QLD.
Looking down to the sign.
Looking back up the hill from behind the sign.
As you can see it was very busy there.
