Has anyone had anything to do with "lithium LiFe P04"deep cycle 250A max from iTECH world in Perth
Somebody recommended them to me .They said i would not have to change my batterie charger in my Avida Esperance .
Less expense . i'm a complete novice in this field
Any experiences you have had with this item i would love to hear about
I do have 320W of solar on the roof.I was thinking of getting 2x120ah of these batteries after the ones i've got go to batterie heaven.
The price of these batteries seem quite reasonable,i think.

I'd hold out for a few yrs to see how others go with the whole drop in idea. These are the same people who were making the pirate cards for the set top boxes when they were still analogy and they were a bit hit and miss, so who knows just what is inside these sealed case batteries.
They don't mention how they determine the 120Ah capacity either, always a warning sign things are possibly not quite what has been suggested.
The other warning sign is the weight, to build a genuine 12v 100Ah LYP battery measured at the industry accepted 0.5CA test rate (discharged over 2 hrs) weighs approx. 16kg with support end plates and cell links but no additional electronics that would constitute any form of BMS control. If you add the weight of an additional outer battery case and cover and the BMS component, how can a claimed 120Ah battery with an inbuilt BMS weigh only 13kg?

Not sure if you have followed the thread on that caravanner forum I'm banned from, with the same company in the title. Some where around page 27 the B/S hits the fan and the facts about these batteries not being compatible with a lot of AC chargers, DC to DC chargers and solar regulators comes to light. Certainly pushes the price way up for these "drop in batteries" if you also have to replace all the charging equipment. There is a post by Sterling Sal who I think started the whole thread mentioning they didn't think the 2000w inverter they have could power the air con. No idea if they have ever tried, we have no problems powering the roof top rattlers using a Projecta IP2000 inverter from and of our lithium battery builds. A 100Ah battery wouldn't power it for very long but it would power it, a 400Ah battery will power an IBUS on full noise with zero charging and all the windows and doors open for 4 hrs and still going after all 400Ah had been used, we stopped because it was a brand new install and now the customers batteries and he was starting to panic :lol: The battery voltage was still over 12vdc and all the cell voltages above 3vdc so there was no risk of damage at that point, but we proved what we wanted to prove so everyone was happy.

I purchased 2 x 120ah from ITech back in January $850 each. Very happy with product so far. But it is only 6 months experience. I am not technical at all so batteries and solar were a bit above my intelligence level when I purchased. I run them off 2 x 300 solar panels (though solar place in Geraldton WA told me they were probably closer to 200w each). I purchased this in addition to the original set up of 200w feeding into 2 x 120 regular batteries. Gives me some peace of mind if one system fails I have back up. I currently split my appliances between the 2 systems.
If you add more batteries in parallel you only increase the capacity, not the maximum discharge rate, that is limited to what any single battery can provide on a continuous basis. Don't believe the bit about being able to use the equipment you have now, read through that thread on the caravanner forum and you will see what happened to one person who believed that nonsense.
I have spent a lot of $$ and time developing an interface that will work with just about any charging equipment the customer already has to be suitable for charging our lithium battery installs. Every one is custom design because virtually no two people have the same equipment or power requirements. One size fits all from experience generally means it doesn't properly fit anyone.

To get a comprehensive answer regarding such batteries go to YOUTUBE and search Will Prowse LiFeP04.
This guy tests drop in Lithium batteries like the itech type.
The short answer after watching the videos is, IMO, the itech battery is a good buy and would be hands down better in performance than lead acid type batteries (wet, gel, agm).
And, it WILL drop in, replace and run off your current wet cell charging systems, according to the test videos on Youtube.
I would be interested to read any reviews to the contrary that forum members may have and are able to provide links to such reviews.
