Travelled that road the other day. Fantastic walk down to the mine, and what a magnificent blue, of the water....
Also had a nice drive around the old township. Bitumen in good condition.
We use to have a reunion for family and friends at another old uranium mine in SA. Last one last year sadly, access has now been stopped.
Hi Relax-n. I take a guess that you might be referring to Uranium Hill, SE of Broken Hill.
I was out there before it was closed off. Amazing place.

Hi Joe, think you mean Radium Hill, SW of Broken Hill. Did you go as part of a reunion, via history week or a private group arranged with station owners??
We May have crossed paths.

Thanks Relax-n, your are right it was Radium Hill I was thinking of. Went there on a private arrangement a few years ago. Shame that all that history is now closed to the public.

With the horrendous crashes that have been occurring on Nth Qld roads recently, the message of "Drive to the conditions" is being pushed out by the authorities.
So with this road & yes there has been SOME rain, we all have to Drive To the Conditions - or suffer the consequences!
Spent some time on this road in Far Western QLD about 80 k's out from Mt Isa. Cr*ppy bitumen road, but no flies, so all good!
Sorry for how the photo turns out sideways.
Joe.
