Came across this massive bull stuck in a cattle grid. The grid was blocked off for about an hour and every now and then the bull had a big struggle to get out before collapsing again. It was bleeding form the nose, mouth, and legs. A fella came along and was standing near the grate when the bull got himself free. It was very pi**ed off and charged straight at the man, throwing him 20 feet in the air. After landing, the bull tried crushing him and tried to rub him into the ground, before tossing him high again, the man spinning like a ragdoll cartwheeling. After landing, the bull repeated the crushing and burying before a third tossing. Then the bull raced off. This was all right in front of me. All this in 10 or so seconds. I wont put in a picture of the messed up bloke but he was cut badly all over with large bruising coming out and not doing well. I do hope he is able to recover. I left when help came along.
It was only after I had driven 20 minutes up the road that it affected me, making me nearly sick, having seen a man mauled in front of my eyes.
Yes these nice bulls you see on the side of the road can be deadly.
My father tells a story of their ox back home in Europe. One morning it was missing, so my aunt went looking for it. She found it in the woods. It had killed a wolf by crushing it against a tree trunk, and had remained in that position all night.

That is one hell of an experience Farmhat. No wonder you were so affected. There are quite a few stories out there about bulls killing people, even people who had brought them up from calves thought they could be trusted.
Mind you, I have no sympathy for the idiots who do the Pamplona Running of the Bulls and wonder why they get hurt or for the matadors in Spain who taunt and torture bulls.

Injured animals do not know that well meaning people are trying to help them and will lash out at anything nearby that they perceive caused their pain. Always be VERY wary of any injured animal especially large strong animals who can kill you.

People need to remember that cattle, along with other Bovine animals, have a very small brain, not much larger than a small Mandarin. That young bull would have thought that the bloke trying to help it was to blame for it's predicament.

It is wise to keep in mind that most of the cattle in the north are half wild and in some cases completely so. One should always use a great deal of caution around these animals.
