Good on yer Hetho, for letting everyone know that the op went OK
I am led to believe that a lot of men, shy away from this operation, as they think they will lose something
I had this op a few years ago, and I can still laugh at myself, so it is obviously not all that bad, compared to the alternative of doing nothing
For general information, I am led to believe that there are Prostate Cancer support groups scattered around the countryside
So good on yer again Hetho, for also making yourself available for others to ask questions, etc

Wishing you a speedy recovery Hetho - and as Tony said good to let everyone know about a subject that is often ignored by men who need help.

Glad the operation went well Hetho, I wish you a speedy recovery. I went through similar senario to yours 3 1/2 years ago, had a radical prostatectomy and am cancer free, PSA of 0.002. I know I made the right decision. Please be aware that during your recovery you may have some problems both physically and psychologically. If you do seek help, talk to someone. It is hard to talk to family members

Hetho, my reply posted before I had finished, dont know why. As I was saying, it is hard to talk to family members about things like erectile dysfunction, bladder control etc. Your Urologist and prostate nurse can help and there are Prostate Cancer support groups available. I was fortunate to have an understanding and supportive wife who helped me through
a difficult time. Now all is well. As I said, if you have problems, get help otherwise drepression can occur very quickly. All the best.

Thank you all for your support, encouragement and suggestions.
This is day 3 and been for 2 short walks today and a quick lap in a wheel chair piloted by my daughter. Just been round to see our neighbour in maternity for a cuddle. Of her new baby boy that is.
I am learning more each day, with my daughter being a nurse. Her inspection of the catheter was an interesting exercise. I guess all!s fair in love, family and daughters.
and the drain comes out this afternoon as well. Hopefully home on Friday.
I would like to offer advise if needed; and can, and am happy to receive PM`s.
I'm still to getting my head around "Blood flow" injections into where the catheter is connected, and the use of blood flow tablets on a regular basis.
I will worry about erectile disfunction once I am all clear and in control the bladder workings etc.
However we men do really need to be open about this topic and discuss it more for our own good.
But, once again thank you for your comments and support.
Regards.
Hetho.

1 teaspoon of L-Arginene and 1/2 teaspoon of L-Citrulene in 1/3 glass of water, mix until clear then drink it under the tongue for best results,
gets into the bloodstream quicker under the tongue, best thing I have used for ED,once a day is enough.can be bought at health food shops.

Hi Graeme.
Thanks for the tip. Had the Catheter out on Monday, and not quite ready for ED assist, but I will give it a try when I reach that point.
