Hi, were a couple from NZ just bought a caravan to store at daughters in Qld between visits. Our query is about insurance. We have no idea what is required. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Trish

You may be able to include your van in the existing house policy or simply
take out a separate one.
Boils down to what is it that you want/expect. The rest is 'leg work' finding
the insurance policy that suits at the right price. If not familiar in Australia, try
CIL. Most roadside services offer insurance - NRMA, RACQ etc.

Gooday,
We use the Insurance available through CMCA, Ok costs you a joining Fee plus approximately $45-00 Subscription per year, but we have had excellent service from them as well as very competitive Cost.

The follow is a comment I posted in the RACQ which just above your post.
Interesting, as you do not use your van on a regular basis, you may be aable to save a few $$$$ with QBE policy.
Plus we get a huge discount as we have advised QBE that our vanis not on the road during 5 months of the year, that being Nov. Dec. Jan& Feb & March. Van sits in the front of our home under a van cover.
I wonder how many Insurance Co. have a policy like this.
also had 2 awnings replaced and repairs done,no questions asked. However they do not have a nil excess on Caravans.
