Hi all weve been on the road since February and have no immediate plans to stop , we have our licenses and rego listed at our daughters address in NSW , our question is does anyone know the rules regarding a tow vehicle , do we have to have a nsw registered car , can we tow a loan vehicle from a relative that lives in another state or can we buy a car in another state and tow it??? Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Hi as far as I know you need a residential address you said you have that you can do any of the things you mentioned as long as it complies with state law if you are staying longer than three months in a another state you are supposed to change your license but I never do . I am from nsw with car Nsw rego and van is in vic rego as you only pay approx $60 a year for the van and you dont have to worry about dragging your van to get a roadworthy every year .If you have a look at all the travellers no plates there are lots where the tug doesnt match the trailer hope this helps enjoy your travels
