Hi, i'm just wondering if some enterprising person can start up a FB page/group called 'CampWatch'.
The whole idea is similar to the Neighbourhood Watch idea.
Thinking along the lines of Promo stickers, keyring things etc to raise money and awareness of like minded campers/travelers/ nomads or whoever.
An example would be if your staying in for the day/night to let others be aware you'll keep an eye on things while they're hiking or at the pub, or whatever, if you see something that's just not right, fire, falling tree's, suspicious people casing the place.
Just leave a contact number to let them know something ain't right.
Any takers for this?
I'm thinking of Making up some stickers using Vistaprint and seeing what it happens. I used Vistaprint in my Pest control and mowing business and found they were pretty good.
Thanks, Biggles.

Great idea, and happy to come "on board"; however I`m not a FB type person, and I`m not what you need to get this off the ground.
I`m more than happy to hand out stickers and/or discuss during happy hours/chats around camps etc.
Please keep me in the loop.
Regards.
Hetho.

Hey and hello, yep all i really want to do is get a stack of stickers made up (in the process now) and pass them on. $6 bucks each will cover all costs and postage.
The main objective is we keep an eye on things for fellow travelers, thats about it really. Biggles, stay tuned.

still got a lot of gear but not doing work commercially. The concept is ok but to be wide spread and viable you will need a sponcer other wise its just another sticker with little meaning. Best of luck

Biggles, send a note to Colin Young at Caravan Council of Australia - he may be able to tell you best way forward with your idea.

ISTM that the CampWatch logo looks a little benign. Thieves may need a more obvious deterrent.
Have you tried to interest the CMCA and similar bodies in your idea? ISTM that they would have a much bigger audience.
As for the cost of the stickers, you can get a Grey Nomads bumper sticker (160mm x 60mm) for $2.20 plus postage. ISTM that one should have 3 CampWatch stickers (1 on each side + 1 at rear), so the postage cost for 3 stickers would be the same as for 1. Of course the cost depends on your volume, and your willingness to donate your time. Personally, I think you would be entitled to be reimbursed for your efforts.

Guys, its an idea i thought of, that is it, period, i'm getting some stickers (30 actually) and anyone who wants to run with the idea or something with sponsors and going into the global
network can go for it.
However if i'm camping somewhere and you just want to let me know you'll be gone for a few hours and i'm happy to hang in and 'keep an eye out' that's it.
And vice versa.
Mods....end thread please, i'm off to Bingara nsw. Bruce..aka Biggles.
