My partner and I are travelling in our Toyota Coaster bus and are planning on being in Kalbarri in around June/July.
We are looking for options to make our stay here a little more affordable. We would be willing to house sit for a short period or help out wherever possible in exchange for somewhere to park our bus.
We have a very well behaved Border Collie x Kelpie travelling with us who prefers to spend most of her time in the bus.
Also, any tips on things to see and do with our dog in the area would be much appreciated :)

Hi,
We like going to Kalbarri ourselves when we can get away from work, we live in Bunbury WA, but what I will say is that it is not the most dog friendly place....the townsite/river foreshore is fine but you cant go to the national parks or even the coastal gorges/attractions with your dog as its all national park which we find a little limiting.
Nonetheless we still enjoy staying there for a week to ten days at a time when we can.
Cheers AL

Welcome to the forum, Caitlynpoerio
There are plenty of interesting lookouts, well signposted from the road, where you can view the ocean, in the Kalbarri area
I do not usually stay in that area, as there is a lack of low cost camps, apart from the Hutt River Providence, (approx 70 kilometres south east), which I have yet to visit
There may be some house sitting available at Geraldton (approx 100 kilometres south of Kalbarri)
Just remember you cannot go into national parks with a dog, and be very wary near a national park as 1080 dog baits are well speed around . Very unlikely for a dog to survive a bait.

Hi, we caravanned through Kalbarri about 2 yrs ago, it was fantastic, also we had two Staffie dogs with us, the Park on the foreshore takes pets, so no issues there, also we found a Dog Sitter for the day, a lady in town advertises, so we took the opportunity and went to the gorges etc.

As Tony,Bev said some great lookouts to the ocean and cliffs, maybe get someone to mind the pet and go and see the Nat.Park. Great walks and views.
