Thought I would give the thumbs up to Morisset (NSW) Showground.
My 1st venture was not too far but a reunion of work buddies on the Central Coast (NSW).
I decided to stay just an hour away on the travel night so I would be bright eyed and bushy tailed for the 4 day weekend.
Thinking I would stay well I don't know, but somewhere quite, off the main streets but alas apart from the cementary or very dark and not secure streets.
Then I stumbled across the RV friendly Showground. Oh! the webpage link icon is not available? ? above
http://www.morissetshowground.com.au/camping.html
How great getting on dark I found a secure and friendly place to stay. $15 Hot shower/clean toilets/camp kitchen.
So much for being bright eyed, I was so excited I couldn't sleep (same with the cat) then one of the mother of all storms hit. At least I know no leaks.
Looking forward to my next trip in a couple of weeks.
cheers all

Glad to see that your first road trip, was a happy one, Chela
Your cat will soon get into the groove of what to do
It will all become "ho hum" to the cat, in time
Our cats usually spent 16 hours sleeping, and 8 hours looking for a good place to sleep , each day
