hi, im limited to where I can store my van. I currently own a swan outback which i park to the side of my drive using a pulley and trolley system. The limitaion is the width. At a squeeze the widest I can go is 2300mm . Most sites lack this bit of info and ask for all your details to send a brochure and even then you dont get the width. I want a van offroad or semi offroad with an atm under 2800 and a max length of 18ft. The other half wants a full en suit inside the van, which rules out a lot of hybrids and we are both keen on the option of outside cooking facilities. After heaps of looking the top of my list is https://www.marvelrv.com.au/runamuk/. Are there any others that would fit, possibly available second hand? thanks john

Cannot answer your Q., but the Marvel looks like a nice rig.
I don'tthink that you would be disappointed with your first choice.

That Marvel looks the ticket for sure. Nothing comical about that beast and I tell you that for free.
Just make sure it is tied down or it could take off one night and end up with 'Thor' as his dressing room.

Looks like a really nice van,but haveing a bed where one has to climb over the other at night was a problem for us,we had an avan as our first van and we dont want that set up again,I guess it does not bother most people just something to consider...

yes your right I have that at present with the swan, its usually not a biggy but worth considering.

Ah the big problem when one needs to go walkies in the wee (excuse the pun) hours of the morning! We had an Eagle & I made the point that when Pat "had to go", I too "went" - it was easier.
There are a few vans that have east-west beds (more of the "dedicated" off-road vans) - this is the only way that you're going to get a narrower caravan. One brand is Trakmaster - on some of their models. They tend to be a little expensive but you may pick one up second hand.
Bear in mind that an awning will add approx. 100mm to the width too.
One thing I'd be looking at is service if you go for the Marvel - can you get warranty jobs, etc done at other locations that you might travel to?
Two suggestions-
1. Without being bashed by your wife, you, or other members of the forum would be to go to a camper trailer. Some have an attached ensuite, our neighbour's one has an air-conditioner in it! And they can carry more weight than most caravans.
2. Visit your local library & if they have caravan magazines, have a read/borrow those that have reviews of similar width caravans. I have a tight squeeze getting my van in & under our carport - someone said that "Life was not supposed to be easy" - I wonder if he was targeting caravan owners?
Terryt - it's not much fun at 3-4am - especially in winter in Canberra! In the days before our son rebuilt his house.
