Hi all My toilet will not flush. I watched the video and followed the instructions. Managed to get the handle, cover and basin out but as hard as I tried could not bring out the blue dude with the impeller on the end. I didn't want to pull to hard. I changed the fuse in the cassette compartment as it was blown but to no avail. Any hints or does anyone know of a caravan mob in northern NSW or Qld who repair the Thetford toilets. The one at Argenton NSW is booked out until May.

On my unit there is a Stainless Steel Phillips head screw that holds down the pump.

I second that, did you drain the water out?

My thelford toilet (2014) did not have a stainless screw.
Bit hard to get out -pulled on the water tube (not the electric cable). Jiggling it around and pulling it out hard, it came out -I figured the worst that could happen was that the water tube would come off the pump
Spun the impeller with a small screw driver and all ok

Im with Laurie same thing worked for me, but as you say its NOT easy. Small hands and wrists work better.

There is a chance that the fuse is not making a good connection , The points could need a spray with an electrical contact spray such as bright spark,

A squirt of Dish washing liquid in the pump tank every so often keeps our impeller working.

Mine stopped the impeller in the pump jammed, I was advised to fit a new pump as it would just happen again. Very difficult to do and as said small hands would be good. I disconnected the fitting that the hose connects to at the bowl end and then that allowed me to lift the pump out using that hose and reverse to install.
There is good howto info on the caravans plus web site for the job.

It will be the impeller jamming that is blowing the fuse,
cause most times it's calcium buildup on shaft.
You can get the bottom off the pump but it's not easy
to remove scale from shaft using a pair of pliers to rotate
shaft using CRC to free it up.
If you need a new pump go to Evilbay they are only about $10
that's all they were when I replaced mine, solder the wires and
use heat shrink,I fill heat shrink with silicon before heating that
way it's totally waterproof.

Thanks to all. I tried to get it out but didn't want to pull too hard. Should have. Had mr fix it out to the cvan park and $200 later a new pump. Told my the pump cost $100. I knew it hadn't, but sometimes its just worth it mentally.
