This morning outside the Hilton Hotel in George St, Sydney, where 41 years ago Constable Paul Burmistriw was killed in a terror attack, alongside Council Workers Alec Carter and William Favell, NSW Police Legacy paid their respects.
It doesn't seem that long ago, the first true Terror Attack in Australia, shook us to an awakening. We have seen many instances since, both in Australia and overseas, but unfortunately I fear there will be many more until this World can see a lasting Peace.

Have to agree with that.
Broken Hill, 1915, is often touted as Australia's first terrorist incident. https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/broken-hill-new-years-day-1915-was-australias-first-terrorist-attack-20141014-115weh.html

Innocence lost long before 1978. Myall creek massacre, Coniston massacre in 1920s, 1971 a couple of sticks of gelignite chucked through the lounge room window of a house in Brumby st Surry Hills where half a dozen an Aboriginal children were watching tv. No deaths but lots of hearing problems. 1972 2 bombs blow up the Yugoslav travel agency in George St.Sydney injuring 16.
These are just a few terrorise acts I can think of off the top of my head.
Australia never had an innocence. It was founded in blood. The blood of convicts and the only people one could consider as innocent; the Aboriginal people of Oz. Watch Sweet Country set in 1929. Though fictional it is the distillation of life in Aboriginal Australia. In 1928 over 100 Anmatyerrer men women and children were massacred by Police in reprisal for the payback killing of one white man by Walpari Aboriginal people at Coniston. The Anmatyerrer camp was just the first one the police from Alice came upon. They applied rule 303.

What innocence are we talking about?
