G'day to all and sundry, Marilyn and I (Hansie) live in Echuca (VIC) and recently bought a neat, pre-loved 20,6ft semi off road Olympic Seaview caravan, which I am presently upgrading for free camping. We plan only for small trips in the near future so to test and try not only the caravan, but our ability to cope with caravan life. The BIG TRIP around Australia will have to wait till next year, but boy don't we look forward to it with lot's of excitement. In the mean time I am looking for a place to station the van on a long-term basis, to use as a w/end retreat while we are not on the road. I am thinking of somewhere just south of the Divide, about 100 to 150 km from Echuca. If it was on a lake, Dam or river be even better.
Cheers, Hansie

Welcome to the gang Marilyn and Hansie, enjoy here and out in the playground.
Sounds like a pretty good plan you have there and I hope it comes to you sooner than soon. I also hope you can find that 'long term' spot.
I have my aluminium tent on a 'long term' spot. It's called Australia.
Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

G'day Marilyn and Hansie and welcome to the forum. Don't forget to try the two ongoing games here - 'Who is This' in the 'I Digress' section and 'Pick this Place' in the 'General' Section - a great source to find new places to visit. Remember to keep an eye on your weights while doing your upgrades!

Thanks Dougwe, yes that great island of the antipodes is good place to park your caravan, although this place is so big that I fear I may forget where I parked it. I may have to stick with a spot closer to home :)

Too right Catpete, lots folks don't watch their weight. To often they pack it up on the rear end which can cause a dangerous sway. That goes for both the caravan and their owners :)
