Nephew and his newly wedded Bride camping at Valla Beach NSW (Tourist Park), last night, thieves entered their camp at night, stole food and liquor from their fridge. He just finished apprenticeship, she just finished Uni so they are not flush with funds.
There are some horrible people that deserve a visit from Karma (with a baseball bat).
Be aware of your possessions and trust no-one, ensure everything is secure and locked up.

On TV tonight cctv in a cafe a male customer held a eftpos machine. Unbeknown to the young girl serving he swapped cards with a stolen one and added two zeros.... $2500 instead of $25. Then he claimed she typed in the wrong amount and demanded an immediate refund which he got.
A hard lessen for that couple Possum but could have been worse.

Amputating a hand for thieving sounds like a good idea.

It's not just Valla Beach that this applies to. The best pickings are in the holiday periods and any park where you get parties of the young feral drinking classes you are going to get large scale pilfering. We were in Moonta Beach (SA) when there was a large party down the other end of the park. The next morning it was discovered that most of the eskies and car fridges under awnings had gone. Moonta Beach is normally a safe place (just like Valla Beach normally is.) You have to be triply careful during holiday times.
I don't think Vala Beach should be singled out. You should be vigilant in every popular park in holiday times.
