I am led to believe, that he was banned from the forum, Juggenaut
Not sure if you are allowed back, after a certain time period
Perhaps someone has met him on the road, and can advise you where he is

I believe Macca was a loose cannon that went way way over the top ,the moderators here put up with a lot more than most I would think ,they can only take so much,Macca may have meant well but he pushed the boundaries well past the limit, and may have paid the consecrencce..

What is a consecrencce? Maccas posts sometimes.....OK, often......were long and rambling, but his knowledge, wisdom and experience were apparent. My view is that if you dont want to read any contributors post, just skip over it.I am not at all computer-savvy,but there is certain to be a way that any particular persons posts simply dont appear on your screen? Cheers

From what I could find it happened in late 2017. Yes he upset people (including me a couple of times} but you either passed over it or let it affect you. Just like some of the "almost fisty-cuff" arguments that have occurred during this past year. The best way to stop an argument is to say nothing once you realise that your opponent always wants to have the final word.
However all forums have rules & the moderators must be seen to keeping them or else things could get out of hand.
The reason macca17 is missed is because his knowledge & experience base was quite broad. And I'll never forget his multi-function folding boat table!!

My latest information is that Macca17 is facing legal action for the content of a particular post.

Yer ... I agree that on occasion he went a bit over the top .... but Legal action?????? Buggar me, you've got to be kidding. Perhaps just another sign of the PC & litigious world that we live in.
(BTW Iza ... what is the source of the information about the legal action? A PM if you don't want to comment publically.)
I for one certainly miss his posts. I especially enjoyed the late night ones, or when his meds were a bit out of whack.

Correct. This is just the last I know of in a "line of destruction." He has been permanently banned from forums before and I don't know of any who have readmitted him.

Yep even a complaint re a service is posted; it better not get personal. I saw on the news a lady complained against some Veterinary costs and went online about it.
Now in court to the tune of a $100.00 plus. It can escalate pretty quickly.
Happy New Year Folks.

From memory I am to assume that it was a vile, racist off topic rant that provided the admin with no choice but to remove him from this forum in a similar manner to how he had suffered demise on other platforms.
At the time the offending post was removed along with the offender so I am assuming that this was the reason.
If his action that day has caused reason for legal action then so be it.
Many off us are not aware of what may have happened behind the scene.

Ive said it before . I mod on car forum . As you guess theres people on them which are real characters and very supportive. Some go over the top .As mods change or deleate a few words if it seems derogatory. At the bottom of edited post it says it been idited and why . Can also suspend them for a while . Keeps things friendly ,easier reading.

If we can't improve on silence, why keep discussing someone who cannot defend themselves?

Gday...
Because it is a forum and a member of the forum asked where another member of the forum was these days.

Agree totally, most of the below is little more than gossip and innuendo.

For those who remember Macca17 and his contributions it's was probably enough to answer the OP by saying that he left the forum without the need to go into the sordid details. I have to agree with Goldfinger on this one I can't see much point in carrying on a discussion (mostly critical) about a guy who has no way of defending himself.
Cheers

And for the ones who are holyer than thou and not talking about somone is just something that suits their personal agenda in this topic.
Have a read what some of you said about our beloved Macca in this topic just recently.
It appears that just maybe some of us have been struck with the hypocrytical magic wand.
People change their views over time. Also comments made soon after is more relevant than later on. Continuing it on now is like a second burial and in 6 months time a 3rd burial. The lust to dig it up the detail is clear.
I think your wand Dicko is identical but is being used to stir the pot on an absentee.
The OP just asked this question
"anyone heard from Macca lately?"
I dont see anything resembling asking for Macka' banning record on other forums and all the other banter.
Can you ever stay on topic as you deviate whenever the opportunity arises.
If Macca has a skeletons in his cupboard, better than some that wear theirs around all the time...

I think you may have the content of the two topics slightly mixed up but regardless of what happened to our Macca all our lives will go on, obviously without much change on here. Hypocracy is rife in society.
This meme says it all It would have had more impact in putting some members down in this topic had there had been no derogatory comments made by the same detractors in the other topic.
It is unfortunate that Macca has problems. Most started in Vietnam. He was badly wounded. Way back he stated he has a "plate in his head." He also has psych problems. There are times where he lapses on his medication. That's when he goes off. In the past, he has apologised for it and promised to do better. It's a big problem for moderators to keep him on track. Eventually the mods react and give him a holiday occasionally. The next step is to make the holiday permanent. It is unfortunate for Macca.
Let us not feel any animosity or other bad feelings for him. Let us all leave him in peace.
