Years ago we used to have diesel delivered to an above ground tank at our business address and all was fine.
Then one day we had a visit from a bloke with shiny shoes and a shiny bum and he proceeded to inform us that we would no longer receive fuel deliveries after a certain date due to new compliance regulations.
The hoops that were put in place through which we were to jump were just not worth the hassle to continue receiving deliveries so we opted to go to the servo for diesel.
I would imagine if the above were to be set up in Aus then a similar situation would arise.

Dont know about unleaded but for diesel this type of service has been available lke for years. Have used it extensively for trucks and earthmoving equipment over the years.

My in-laws (farmers) got diesel this way is an above ground tank. I think they still do. They also got leaded in a ground tank. That stopped for a variety of reasons: unleaded, tank was no longer considered safe, most vehicles ran on diesel. There was only one car running on petrol and it was actually cheaper to fill up in town.

I think that our regulations will stop that type of fuel storage in Australia. I have not been in that business for decades but even then it was illegal to store more than 15gallons ?? of petrol on a site above ground. So any approved storage must be underground tank. Diesel is easier but not in an urban areas. There are restrictions regarding proximity to houses. AND there are fire safety regulations and electricity and other hazzards etc.
Why are people so anti government regs and post comments like "shiny shoes and a shiny bum" to make these people look like unwanted fools. I am happy that I live in a safe environment at home and somebody will not store a firebomb next door to save a dollar or two You can do that if you like but I am happy with most regs, AND I have lived in a couple of third world countries so I have a small idea of what a place is like without sensible regulation. Most people on here would not want to live there !

The article states that the fuel is delivered to a person's motor vehicle at a registered address where the vehicle is with fuel cap open or unlocked.
There is no suggestion "fuel storage" other than within the fuel tank of the motor vehicle.
