We were there in June, came in from the north & east & left via Hamersley Gorge around the west side. The colours of the rock formations there are amazing. Then up through Millstream Chichester NP, Python Pool & camped a bit further north of there. The public road is not too bad but keep your speed down as there are a few rough rock sections on the road which are not difficult to drive over, it is that you just don't want to hit them at speed and they come up at a bit of a surprise.

Whenarewethere,your last photo is interesting,compare it with this taken in,2006.
Looks like the Gorge hasn't changed much, except it there is parking, a steel platform lookout & a toilet which all looks pretty new.
