Jayco Pop Top roof not sitting in the correct place

I have a 2005 Jayco Heritage & when I lower the roof the holding clips do not fully cover the brackets. It appears that the roof is sitting too far forward about an inch.
Has anyone else encountered this? Is it a major problem? Can I fix it?

I have it in mind that this, or a very similar, problem was raised on either this or the technical forum within the past 12 months. Try a search and you may find a solution.

We have a Roadstar which did the same thing.
Got new struts fitted which fixed it a bit, but not perfectly.

New gas struts will fix the problem. Have been down the same path with my Jayco poptop. I would sugest that all 4 are replaced as this will keep them all at the same pressure.

Before you spend any money, reverse the way you lift it and lower it,in other words if you lift it from the front 1st and lower it from the back
Reverse the procedure sometimes this pulls it back inline.

That's it alright, or otherwise pull the thing along while it drops.
Or if it is a problem screw another bottom bracket beside the existing.

Agree with the struts. The same thing happend to my pop top. Rear struts worn, top not sitting level when raised and moving forward when lowered. Replaced the struts and problem solved.

Thanks folks,
I am told the struts were replaced about 6 months before I bought it i.e about 12 months ago.
I have tried a few of the other tips and there is improvement. It seems to like being pulled down at both ends the same time, but I can't get it dead centre & I believe the van has had little use, so will try it out a bit & see what develops.
