I don't feel any of the paper published magazines are worthwhile now. They are mostly ads with some poorly written stories, and some advertorials. The only one I read now is the free online magazine RV Daily, still have to skim past ads and don't read all the articles, but it has some good ones and its free! rvdaily.com.au/

I also once brought a couple of caravaning mags, since stopped when they had some poorly written articles about weights and measures. Then some of the reviews were equally poor, eg this caravan has no tap on the A frame and next review, what a silly place to have a tap and the list goes on. Not enough cupbroad space to put everything in, the next article people carrying excess items dangerously over loading there caravans. Not very consistent.
I have found as years go on I have a very negative view of journalism and there expertise.
That On the Road one was always good informative reading.

I agree with Meredith, Pretty much based on who pays the most gets the best write up.
Some of the so called magazines show vehicles that are not legal in lots of States with ad-ons that are not legal. Then people see them and think because they are in a magazine they are.
As Radar says one edition bemoaning not enough space for everything you need, then the next edition going off about overweight Vans.
I've seen some shocking articles re Towing weights and what certain Tugs Can and Can't tow in some magazines.
The complexities of Towing weights, Towball loads, GVM's ATM's etc are a nightmare already without some of the stuff published these days. Starts with the car industry advertising unrealistic Towing Weights.
Trying the various State's websites are no help and if you spend hours on the phone to ask you get someone who has no idea anyway.
Just as an exercise Check out the Commonwealth ADR's Re Mirrors.
Sorry you need a degree in Legalease and Physics ,Oh and an engineering degree may help.
Just read the mags in the Doctor's surgeries or the CP laundries and save your bucks.

as far as reviews go they seem to be right out of the manufactures pamphlets
call into the local library the will probably have all the editions

I think the internet with forums and Youtube et al has largely killed hobby magazines and probably no bad thing either.

The best mag for your caravan is the exact same as the mag on your car.
There are infinite advantages of having identical wheels and tyres on both.

For many years I purchased several Caravan mags and ended up with a large collection of mags and dvd's these days I tend to follow two caravan forums and watch on line information that is caravan related. as many others have said the mags are nearly all adds and you regularly get biased reviews.

I thought & I see P&M thought he was talking about wheels, everyone else - reading material.
For the latter - check out your local libraries or the laundry in a caravan park!

Gotta agree with all of above.
This forum has far more accurate reading and advice than ALL the mags put together. (and I am not on the payroll and have no financial or any other .... blah, blah, blah, etc.)
Talking to other vanners/travellers along the way is also great.

If every one was regularly available FREE at the local shop, I would leave every one exactly where it was.

The accuracy and qualities of the magazines went out the window when they gave Tom Oltholl the flick. Tom used to tell it as it is, that annoyed the advertisers so he just had to go.
Who was the technical expert in C&M who reckoned that WDH lightens the ball weight of a caravan?

I used to buy most of the known mags ... but since beginning travelling full-time I only buy On The Road magazine.
I have an e-subscription but no paper-version subscription because I am travelling all the time.
[edit: but I buy the paper version when it comes out every three months]
I find it is still a very good source of info on all things travelling - but was better until it grew to be a bigger glossy mag about four years ago.
