Heading east the next cheap fuel is at nundroo. Don't fill up at nullabor just get enough to get to nundroo.

Our current price here in Brisbane region is $1.70. But get a load of this. I purchased a bottle of 600ml water at the Pro Shop last week, ( normally take a couple of bottles with me to golf.) and wait for it..... It was $4.00 for the water. Supermarket price the next day was $7 for a warp of 24 bottles. At $4 it equates to $96. Where is all this going to end. But!!! like you, I only top up with a few litres of petrol at the higher price. You know, I think it is going to get worse before it will ever get better. Of course there is the flow on cost to our cost of living.

Were effected the the most, I mean people towing caravans ,we need diesil engined vehicles with enough grunt to pull a heavy load so there not fuel efficient ,And the diesil capacities are being driven down to comply with legislation ,so we will be towing with lower capacity engines with Dpf filters fitted. The tiny little fuel Efficient vehicle is not an option for the nomad .just lining the pockets of greedy oil companies and government....

A week back it was $2.06 at ****lebiddy, $1.95 at Eucla, $2.16 at Nullarbor, $1.63 at Nundroo with Penong @ $1.67 and Ceduna $1.65.
Currently $1.57 to $1.67 on the Newell Highway around Dubbo/Peak Hill/ Parkes.
Just imagine if those road houses were not there?????

Aussie $$ is falling (good for exporters, I hear), trouble still in the Middle East + Trump vs Xi Jinping - NO, fuel is going to go through the roof! Roll on the hydrogen powered car (I'll run it on water then).

The price of LPG is based on the price of standard petrol (about 2/3rds I believe.)

Great comment! If you cant afford the fuel,you cant afford the car.
Fuel now is actually a lot CHEAPER than it was in 1977, as a percentage of income.
Average wage in 1977 was $6300/year and petrol was 62 cents/ litre. . Average wage in 2018 is $82,400/year,and petrol is $1.70/ litre
SO,wages have increased 1300% while fuel has increased by a miserable 274%! Cheers

I have no idea why LPG & Autogas are so expensive - here in Townsville it is a dollar per litre but in Toowoomba it was 84c while at Warrnambool a few weeks ago it was 76c!
I take on average 17L of gas to 70L of diesel.
Freight, you might say but the stuff has to be freighted south as well!

the problem with lpg is you can't find it outside major cities, especially Queensland.Was up there a few months ago and lpg was a pain to find.In airlee beach there was only one pump.
So not only is it getting expensive and harder do find.

Winter just gone I decided to chase the Qld sunshine. Travelled 11,000ks, Isusu D-Max towing a 16 foot Van, 70 kilo overwheight but thats another story, all the way to Cooktown. I left the van there and went on up to Seisa, Cape York.
Cheapest fuel was at Cairns $1.48.9, dearest Bamaga at $2.04
Total litres consumed 1,257, total cost $2,028.00 at an average price 0f $1.61.3
Considering the remote locations I thought the cost of fuel was ok. Some other prices of interest, Belyando Crossing $1.85, Hann River $1.73, Archer River $2.00, Bramwell Roadhouse $1.95
Just fill up and dont worry, you pay more for a litre of water!

We do not export much LPG (liquefied petroleum gas.) The gas we export in vast quantities is CNG (compressed natural gas)
