Looks a bit like the Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne, sort of.

Google has a bit of info - none of it  seems to be indicating camping availability.

Here is where it's at -

[edit: as Jade sez, the dump point is on Nuttall Street (south of the bowl) - apparently this is the site where the NZ travellers were shot at last night. One would assume they 'thought' it was a camping spot. Recent news reports are a bit conflicting on just what happened and why.]

You can always stay right next to the dump point, plenty of room available.

Cops have already got the perpetrator in jail.

Snip from the latest newspaper article, as Sheba has already said, they caught the man

UPDATE | A 20-year-old man has been charged over the shooting in Rockhampton on Monday.

The man was charged on Tuesday afternoon with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous conduct with a weapon, possession of an unregistered firearm, possessing explosives (ammunition) and drug utensils.

EARLIER He has been taken into custody after someone fired shots at a campervan parked on Yaamba Road at around 5:00AM.

I have no sympathy for him, and hope that he is charged with attempted murder, as the police found a bullet, inside the campervan
