I have just lost a bit over $28 because I bought some car parts online and obviously my computer had been hacked. The scammers are using the site weborderprtyfsk.com online GBP. Those of us who do make any purchases online need to be aware to do as I do and not have too much money in the account they use online, and to check your bank accounts (including pending transactions) frequently. I have only lost $28 but had I linked my debit card to an account with more money in it, I could conceivably have lost much more.

It is worth knowing, too, that a Google search of the site shows that is a USA site, but when you dig deeper, it is rerouted through the UK to South Africa - and who knows where after that!

Nothing is 100% foolproof of course, but following a nasty cc fraud experience some time ago I now use only PayPal for online purchasing. Doesn't happen often, but if I encounter a merchant that doesn't accept PayPal I simply don't buy.

Hi Tony, Thanks for that. It is over ten years since I last used PayPal because I generally do not buy online. It was simply that I found that the parts I needed for my tug were cheaper ex Melbourne (same parts, same quality) than I could source them in store in Brisbane. I was aware of the cc fraudsters and scammers out there. That is why I only use an account with a very small balance in it. I've been targeted twice over the years but this one was much more sophisticated than the previous one.
Cheers
Dave

Hi , Im interested in learning more detail about this .

How exactly do you know your computer has been hacked. ? For example if you purchased the components from some other site, the other site could have had lax security and your details leaked that way to bad guys...
Also, What has site weborderprtyfsk.com got to do with it ? Is that a website that is associated with a $28 transaction on your credit card ?
Several years ago I had unauthorized transactions ( NOT by me ) . My bank noticed, rang me up . and cancelled my card that very minute. I have not had any more unatherised transactions for a long time
Other times the bank have rang me up about transactions and they have been valid transactions I have made online...

I will only buy on-line using Paypal. It has buyer protection.
