While travelling this great country of ours, I came across this, I could not resist taking a picture and posting it
Some people have a great sense of humor or maybe he was fair dinkum, interesting what the police would say, may it would test their sense of humor as well.

Hi Graham....Might look funny, but perfectly legal for any combination over 7.5 metres long. This sign means that you can turn left even if you need to have part,or all,of your vehicle in another lane,in order to negotiate the bend.If you do NOT display this sign, and another vehicle sneaks up on your left,if there is a collision you are in the wrong. The sign is your friend! Not allowed on right side of vehicle though.Hope this helps.Cheers

Maybe the owners are Irish, it would then be, to be sure to be sure.
Well done I reckon. There are way worse things out there.

Question: Must a vehicle over 7.5 metres display this sign?
If yes, then most vehicles towing a boat or even a long box trailer would need one. That's crazy of so.
Good Luck.

No,they dont.It is more of an insurance than anything else, unlikely to be needed, but good to have!

I had one on the back of my Eagle camper - added to the ability of being seen too as it acted as a larger reflector.
And backing up yobarr's comments - it is used on trucks where in turning LEFT, they usually take up more than one lane. Most caravans with their shorter A frames generally follow the car's tracks.
If it prevents a motor cyclist or small car from cutting in on your left as you are turning, the sign was worth while.

Not as bad as people who have UHF stickers on the rear of their rigs & never turn their radios on.
We were recently overtaken by a rig with its awning flapping on the side of the caravan unsecured. They were ''low flying'' when they went past us.
We tried to warn them using our radio, no reply. Just one of many examples.
