I have a tune that pops up in my head every now and again from late sixties maybe early seventies , like most people tunes from my teen years ring around in my mind. The words I remember are " sweet water flows thru my fingers and thru my toes , see the sweet water run sweetest sparkle in the sun " , I astound my wife with my memory of bands , and tunes and pretty much anything from my youth but this one eludes me . Anyone remember those words?

I think the group is/was The Brass Monkeys, an English folk group of the 1980's.

Thats definitely the words , but doesn't sound like the rythm in my head any chance it was covered by the Brass Monkeys or someone else . Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me .

I think they were originally The Rogues or something like that. Doug Fletcher and Guy Flett. They then had a group called the Brass Monkey. This was a compilation of studio musicians that were flogged off to Motown.
Fletcher and Flett wrote songs in the 1960-70 period for The Hollies and other English groups.
I think they probably did it back then and then rereleased a different version. Not too sure about that last part though.

I can't shed any more light, and since we're limited the written word in here I can't sing the tune that's in my head for you (lucky you!)
