Today in Peak Hill at the Double D C.P. I met another Grey Nomad.
" Paulo" a very nice gentleman and lovely wife. We had a brief discussion regarding
ways to ease bad backs when hitching and unhitching. Tonight is happy hour and
there should be a large group attending, so we'll talk some more.
The owner Kevin makes signs for vans, he put our names on today and they look
fantastic.
Safe Travels
Kev n Hil.

Well done Kev n Hil, always good to meet up with other forum members. Others of course too.
I haven't stayed at the DD CP but have the Peak Hill CVP a couple of times and enjoyed my stay. OH! the scones jam and creem at 4.00pm are pretty good too. Maybe you should drop a hint at the DD.

Seven years of extensive traveling (80,000kms) & we're yet to strike one. Do they smell like mothballs?

No, they are probably hiding from you.
Cheers, John.

Hey Dougwe, Last time we were down to Peak Hill (last year) we stayed at the DD CP and they put on free pizza for happy hour and pancakes for breakfast. Looks like both CPs are looking after their customers. Cheers. PS. We do have the Grey Nomad sticker on the back window of our motorhome.

Bugga! That puts the scones ta shame. I think I will give the DD a try when next in Peak Hill.
I have a big Indian Head on the front and back of my aluminium teepee and a BIG....DOUGWE on the back as well. Anyone here wouldn't miss it.

Doug,
You've let the cat out of the bag now - Peak Hill's amazing service!
It's only a small park & now there will be less room with all of this mob filling it up (fortunately DD is grounded for a while).
Keith, they are very nice!

Met a few but we are a rare breed. Find some people like to remain anonymous. Go figure.

We spent 8 nights at Greens Lake & never met one.
We knew where they were camped but they never came out of their caravans during daylight hours.
We didn't want to be intrusive & just go stomping into their camps.
I met the lovely Dunmowin duo last year. Saw the name on the back of their van as I rocked up to a CP to get some air con power. Spent a few hours bobbing around the pool in +40c odd.
Still have a catch up via text. Looking forward to ever being within cooee of them again.

The few Grey Nomads, I have met from this forum, have so far been the same as me, just a normal human being
I am not a drinker, by any stretch of the imagination, so I do not usually congregate around the happy hour
If the Grey Nomad polo shirts had a pocket, (for the glasses), I would certainly wear one, to identify myself
Thanks to everyone for the info, about the caravan parks at Peak Hill
I have been to the Parkes show ground a few times to see Elvis, and his cousins, perhaps I should also stop at Peak Hill, to give the boss a treat
