Have a Jayco Silverline and only recently the fridge will not run on gas or 12 volt. Gas getting to stove and hot water fine. Travelling very soon, any help much appreciated to solve the problem. Battery went flat recently so changed that.

Is it trying to ignite? Some times it takes a while for the gas to get there . Ahh 3 way fridges !!

Click on SEARCH & then type in 3WAY FRIDGE, you'll find a world of pain & suffering.

Gday...
I agree 3-way fridges have limitations. However, after 10 years travelling full-time with my Dometic 3-way I have found none of the problems that some seem to suffer - excepting extended times in 35+deg temps. I would be certain there are other happy owners and users of 3-way fridges.
Perhaps it is a bit like all 'appliances/vehicles/vans/houses' ... depends on the luck of the draw.
The OP is not whinging about the general performance of their 3-way fridge but rather that ".....recently the fridge will not run on gas or 12 volt...."
One would normally assume such a comment would elicit responses of assistance and advice rather than trotting out the over-hyped and far too often denigration of 3-way fridges.
Cheers - John

As a first step get someone to check if there's a spark (where the gas gets lit) whilst you're inside clicking. If there isn't then check fuses.

Shouldn't need a spark to run on 12 volt it is an electric heater (Not gas). - Does the fridge work on 240 volt? As Moose said check fuses if not blown I would say the heating element is blown. Also do the dumbo thing Turn it off and on again to ensure it's on.

Unfortunately they have a bad track record on all RV forums. A new Dometic 90lt 3 way fridge costs around $850, we've spent over$1,000 getting ours repaired on 4 separate occasions.
We've met a lot of people on our travels with the same experiences as us. Weight of numbers & evidence give a true picture. End of story.
Hopefully the OP gets their fridge going without spending what some of us have had to.

Maybe take it to a reputable repairer & have it checked. That would be my solution as I don't know why it doesn't work.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Have someone checking it out. If problem not solved before we go will wait until we get to Darwin and hopefully Jayco can solve it for us.

Our Dometic 3 way fridge has been terrific, until a while ago, would not work on gas. Fridge techy diagnosed computer problem, new computers, problem solved. Fridge is nearly 8 years old,now runs like new.

They're good while they're going well, we bought our caravan new 7 years ago & our Dometic 3 way fridge has sh*t itself four times.
Twice not working on gas, once not working on 240v & once not working on 12v.
Next time it does it we're buying a compressor fridge.

Welcome to the forum Creena
As others have already said, can you let us all know what the outcome was, as it may help others in the future
I am not a techie, but from what little I know of three way fridges
You say that you changed the battery, then I would be looking to ensure, that 12 volt is getting to the fridge
You may have crossed a wire, or blown a fuse
The "Electronics Complete" (What Jules47 calls the Computer)
Requires 12 volt to operate
The Electronics Complete/Computer controls both the 12 volt and gas side of some fridges
Hope that this info, is useful to whoever is checking the fridge
