Last year we stayed at Free Sprit Caravan Park - about 17 KM from downtown Darwin
Free bus just outside park
We have motorhome so it was good not to drive into Darwin and find parking
We do not stay in parks often but we enjoyed the bar/food/pools, entertainment -
It was $40.00 for unpowered site

I was in Darwin last year
I stayed at (I think that the name was Discovery Caravan Park, but do not quote me)
It was on the corner of Stuart Highway and Farrell Crescent (I think)
$50 odd per night for powered site
It is within walking distance to the Aviation Museum, which has the very, very, large B52 bomber
The bus stop is right outside the caravan park on Stuart Highway, and over the road, on the return journey
Bus fare was free, for having a West Australia Senior Citizen Card
They had a small pool, very small food section at reception, washing machines, and dump point
You could not drive to the dump point, you had to walk
I firstly drove into Darwin to find that the parking was not very motorhome, or caravan friendly
The tourist information people, recommended this caravan park as being close to Darwin
I am led to believe that free parking is a hefty fine, in that City

Hi Dave and Maz, we have stayed at Howard Springs, nice park. Also stayed at the Boomerang CP. Both are a bit out of town but are close to Palmeston. All services you will need are there. Easy drive into Darwin for all the tourist things.
