strops is happily driving along the highway and a huge spider comes out a vent And starts walking along the dashboard. I screamed And panicked. Strop just slowed down and pulled over. Opened my door n jumped out. Strop had my beanie in his hand anD casually steered it towards me, i grabbed it with grandies shirt and threw both on the grass. When i saw it scurring away i was very relied. When that was todays excitement.

In the small hours one morning after helping a mate on his milk round, was driving home absolutely dog tired when a car driving the opposite direction had bright headlights on & refused to dip them, so i put the sun visor down to see a massive huntsman spider drop down, scaring the living sh&t out of me. Got to say I woke up pretty quickly. Got home & then could not sleep for hours.

Down in the bush Huntsman spiders are always coming in out of the cold - it's quite usual to have them run across your face whilst driving - gets to stage you are surprised not to have them - they seem to keep the mice away so quite handy.

Not sure how I managed to keep it on the road. Bloody thing disappeared & I never did find it. Cringed every time I got in that car after that.
The only other time similar was when a European Wasp got sucked in through the drivers window which was down 1/2". Caused all sorts of chaos.

What a nightmare.
A friend of mine had a rat in her hi ace van. Ate the wiring. Cost hundreds to fix. She was a bit paranoid after that. Do not blame her. Hang on a minute, thats a great reason to have a cat Or a mini foxie. Might suggest that to her.

Not a spider tale but scary just the same. Had THREE roos ambush me from the long grass on the side of the road yesterday. One went in front of vehicle and two were heading for side of van. Don't know how they missed me.

Certainly need to have our wits about us on the road. Would not change anything though.

The Rocket,
ya cant expect us to reply, we are all sickened by the memory of the one or six times our space and dignity has been violated by a very personal and aggressive attack by a terrorist spider.... you just re-kindle those memories and and add more anxiety and distress. I have just pumped 3 cans of Baygon into my car so I can believe I can drive to town safely tomorrow.
Thanks...

Very young, very brave, newly married, and a bit apprehensive of spiders
Large spider on outside wall of house
Stabbed it with a broom......missed...... spider ran down broom handle
I had never run so fast in my life...... before or since

Hi tony n bev, that is scary.
It was scary at the time, but I can laugh about it now
Roger Banister, would have been proud of me, that day
As a sidenote, I do not know much about spiders, I have only seen two kinds, small flat ones, and larger flat ones
