Our van is built for a wheelchair and uses one of their PVI Multifold aluminum ramps. Very sturdy, non slip, folds for transport and comes in a variety of lengths to suit your needs.
May I suggest an alluminium fabricator that could make it door width with a handrail up one side. Light but strong.
We have decided to visit a Allum. Fabric. to buy a piece of strong checker plate 2 metres (or more) by 50 cm. We will then also have then bend a 5 cm x 5 cm . right angle at one end which will fit into a cradle that I will have them make. Actually 2 cradles, the first will be attached under the bottom step of the van to hold the plate in position to allow us entry to van and the second will be attached further under the van so we can slide, store and secure the plate for travelling.
(Note the plate must be attached under the bottom step as if attached to the top... ie the floor of the van, then of course we would not be able to close the screen and or door.)
That is one idea without purchasing from ebay etc.
Will let you know if and how we go with the project.

2 metres of alloy will have the potential to be slippery in any damp conditions, maybe consider a handrail for last bit, could easily be removable and only on one side. cheers Craig

Or get that non slip grip added to each step for safety

If you only want to get yourselves in the van, and not a wheel chair, my neighbour has a motor home and an ageing mother who has problems getting in the MH. He has come across (on Ebay) a self lowering and raising step. Replaces the normal pull-out step on most vans that have them.
Press button and step deploys from under van.
Step on to, stabilise yourself by holding on to the handle on the side of the van.
Press another button and step raises to the height you want.
Press another button to lower.
Etc.
About 200KG limit,
Maybe worth a search to find if it would suit your needs.
Any ideas as to the best walk up ramp we can obtain for us to enter our caravan?
