I have bought Diesel fuel recently at a couple of different Puma Outlets in Qld.
Both times I was offered four cents a litre off fuel if I had an RACQ membership Card.
The attendants didn't know how long that will go for.
Is it worth joining the RACQ just for the discount?

If you drive 25000 kms per year and your fuel consumption is 10 litres / 100km you would use 2500 litres of diesel and your saving would be $100
Costs us over $200 per year for RAC in WA
Coles Express used to have the discount in WA but now switched to PUMA. Not all service stations give you the discount
Cheers

If you are only considering joining for the 4c discount then you would have to be doing a huge amount of driving every year. If on the other hand you join for your safety and peace of mind then the discount is a bonus, I wouldn't leave home without it.

True or False, I was told at a Puma S/S in Toowoomba that the discount is for 3 years.

I've been a member of an Automobile club since 1965 (RAA, AANT, RAA, RACQ) so the fuel discount is a bonus.
The membership certainly helps when you have an unexpected breakdown on the road & need towing.
Puma Cluden is the cheapest fuel in Townsville at the moment, is even better with the discount. Coles Express is by far the dearest!

Suprise Suprise, just checked Toowoomba diesel prices and Coles are $145.9 without discount. I have not got diesel from them for some time as they are too expensive.
Check fuel map Australia.
Puma are $149.9 before RACQ discount.

A bit off topic, but could be of interest to all WA nomads. Are you aware you can get a Country Age Pension Fuel Card if you live
outside the metro area. You don't have to own a car or even have a license, but you are limited to one per family

$145.9 and $149.9 seems a little excessive, Perhaps $1.45.9 and $149.9 would be closer to the mark.
