We are using our passports in New Caledonia spending 3 nights at Nouvata hotel Noumea and today travelled by boat to L'escapade island resort on the island of Ilot Maitre for 4 nights, 4 steps from unit to water. Then back to the Nouvata for 1 night and returing via Sydney for several days to catch up with Eril's family before arriving home on the 18th. Hoping 23 degree salt water will help my body.

Great place Noumea, Paul In my career as an Airline Pilot, I went to many Countries, mainly because of the heavily discounted airfares available to airline staff. I didn't work Noumea but I visited there a few times. In the Pacific, I had some interesting experiences in Vanuatu, Noumea, Fiji, Tahiti, Samoa. I was very keen on Port Vila, Vanuatu, in fact I was looking at getting into Air Vanuatu when the Country gained independence round 1980. TAA, who I worked with out of Brisbane flew a service to Port Vila on behalf of Qantas. The French influence in Noumea and Vanuatu was appealing to me. Air Vanuatu didn't work out for me so it was off to greener pastures... Glad you had a good time there in Noumea.
