Ok Next month we are heading off north by north west for the winter and looking for some great camp sites for me to launch the boat for red claw and fishing. May not get much further than Townsville.
Already have Bundoora south of Middlemount............. Theresa Creek out of Clermont .....Elphinstone lake
Fairnburn Dam out of Emerald............Somerset Dam west of Brisbane and some river spots.
Any info will allow me to sort of have a mud map for our journey.
Cheers

Wuruma good for redclaw as mentioned, fishing a bit sad. There have been camping restrictions introduced, so check with someone who is more up to date.
Wife and I like Boondooma, redclaw and fishing for bass and yellowbelly can be quite good. Facilities are also good, toilets/showers and kiosk.
regards,
John

I found Somerset the best where I always get a good feed and Bjelke Petersen next best. Larry.

Wuruma Dam, near Monto? Heaps of redclaw!
Wuruma Dam of course is one of our camp spots.
Hope to get a good site.
