You can also put bag full of clothes on the slats of bed frame, under the mattress sit on bed - then lift bed and mattress to cap the bag.

Ah, that would work. We us zip lock bags to put meat and other food in before freezing it. To get the air out we the bag up or sometimes put the bag under water. This is similar to your idea as the air is pushed out rather than sucking it out.

What good ideas some people come up with - thanks for sharing them guys - and I do have a vacuum.

We carry a vaccum but that would save getting it out and setting up.
