one my third day of my second of four chemo treatments and proud to announce personal records are being are being smashed. Today's maximum count of simultaneously dripping bags was twelve ten in one arm and two in the other.,previously I the max count was only nine.
Feeling good really the doctors and nurses listern and help rapidly. was feeling sick ...pronto pills that work, can't sleep proto enjoying a mild high hehe well there's no scotch left BUT my bastard friend delivered a fancy bottle today plus a half J Walker. Still no nuts ! One nurse here looks like an ex biker so saving the drink less it's taken away.
Hair almost gone but have Scottish cap tha looks good And you won't believe this my bastard mate gave me a marking pen so I could do my eyebrows,
food is a problem here. I've given up on anything hot. It's sandwiches or bread or nothing. The nurses say i must eat more and I say then open a McDonald's with delIvery. Gets a frown everytime. Hehe. Gotta love the nurses but watch out for butch the biker.hehehe.

My son at 13, was in hospital for an operation - he was, and still is at 40, a very fussy eater - couldn't even look at the food - but they wouldn't let him go home, until he had "used his bowels" - I asked if I could bring him in a meal, they expected Maccas, but no his fave - crumbed baked chicken breast, crispy roast potatoes, peas (frozen-not cooked) and gravy, he bolted it down, was allowed to leave (without using the loo).
Hope you continue to feel good, and get well quickly.

G'day Ralph, Glad you're still in good spirits (pardon the pun). Get one of the nurses to give you a buzz cut - Then you'll be trendy, even with purple eyebrows.

Ralph,
Good to be hearing from you. Been wondering what was happening. Hope that the appetite improves.
You wouldn't want butch the biker to be feeding you Big Macs as suppositories.

Thanks everyone for your support.
You were almost right possum. The marker pen for my eyebrows was blue. my mate offered to draw them on for me but I I just know my favourite nurse when next she saw me would say some thng like " you look surprised to see me " or may be. " oh you were the clown in the kids room then" " don't forget to take you make up off "
Strickly sandwiches Jules! Nothing hot, just the smell of the food wagons going by wants to makes me want to throw up. Mind you at home it was chicken nuggets. Parrot is angry at me and spending time sitting my the door waiting While munching on the next doors home brown capsicum.

Update.
session two completed And I'm home after five days of feeling like the hot water in a cup of tea just as the bag is wiggled and jiggled to extra strong.
so many bags of chemo even more than last time. I feel sick, really Crook. I'm not to sure I want to continue if treatment gets incrementally more trying as I progress though to the fourth round.
whats beating me is the power of smell. a whiff of hospital antiseptic and I want and sometimes do spew. Combined with a matching rear end Move and a gutz that won't settle. Poison if ever there was. I am home but the smell lingers In clothing and even in blue Texta.
I never intended to progress though to the suggested quarter amputation but of course hopeful chemo would work. Leg does feel better and i guess scans will show inprovements or otherwise. At this rate maybe a third round of chemo but a forth not so.

Ralph, I'm sure it must at least feel a bit better to be at home, with familiar things around.
I am wondering why you brought the blue Texta home, do you like your eyebrows coloured that much?
I can't imagine your deliberations, but I do know when that ugly buggar with the sickle over his shoulder is in view, it can harden your determination somewhat.
Try to behave and follow orders.
All the best from the Child-Bride and myself, we are praying for you,
Take care,
Possum.

Ralph - sorry you're suffering - and nothing worse than a smell you just can't get rid of - but I know of some people in occupations where they come across some really bad smells, and one of the them told me they put Vicks Vaporub under their noses - smear it on your top lip, just near your nostrils - repeat as required. Worth a try.
Keep us posted - you have a lot of good vibes heading your way.

Hi Ralph, Thinking of you. What can I say. Think positive. I've never been in your position so can't know how you are feeling right now. May I suggest something with regards to clothing - if you can - one set for hospital and another lot for home. Don't put the hospital stuff anywhere near the home stuff or your sheets, towels etc. as that smell won't go away and when you are through this, dump the hospital stuff. Try to keep fresh air in your home. A lot of things that smell will give you nauseating feelings. You may need someone to shop for you (supermarkets can be a real problem) or at least stay away from the pet food area and gardening area. If you are looking a buying caps/beanies, fleece can be better than wool/wool blend which can feel prickly on a bare head. If anyone offers you help, take it. Sorry, not trying to tell you what to do, just trying to offer some practical advise. Take care.

I can't stand the smell of Vicks Vaporub.
I reckon Vegemite might do as good a job.
At least you could lick it off if you start feeling a bit peckish.
Big smiles to you Ralph.
