Guess where a flood would be more than welcome? With the system that flooded Cairns & Innisfail, Townsville got minimal rain - although the dam did get a little bit. It rose to 15% full from 14%!
It will take more than a flood to restore the ground water table to where it should be & to fill the dams.

Warren. We need about 3 wet seasons worth of rain in 1 season. But not all over 1 weekend which is what usually happens. Left Townsville in October. Have never seen it that dry there in 40 odd years.. Fortunately the Burdekin has plenty of water.

Hi Syuart-Jan,
We're away at the moment but have friends keeping us informed. Will be home before the end of the month. There was a good fall a week ago (28mm) & the dam level rose 1% to 15. Yes the Burdekin is there but the pumping costs are enormous & we're still better off than Cape Town (Sth Africa).
There are areas in northern NSW that don't look well either.
Gday...
