With reference to Rocky Lizard's post http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-02-02/kimberley-cut-off-after-highway-floods/9386352 from others' experience what sort of time frame is this likely to be repaired? We were planning to do the trip from Katherine to Broome to Perth in June. Looking like we may have to re-organise.

Unlikely to need to reorganise the trip.
The road closed as I see it is between Broome and Derby, and they will have it open even if not sealed by the end of the week.
It can't stay closed long as the main road in the area.

As the heaths say.......you will be fine ....lived in Kimberleys for many years and have experienced all sorts of road conditions and major roads are repaired ASAP.
Weather permitting the roads will be open shortly so June you will be fine.......although I remember one year letting a tour bus into our campsite in June.....it rained overnight and couldnt get out for four days...... but a rare occurrence.
Enjoy your adventure

Thanks folks. I was assuming that it would be opened ASAP but it was the sealing of the roads that I though may take time.

Those outback roads are the lifeblood for those areas. The damage is severe enough to require major reconstruction it is is usually sidetracked within a week or so. This side track will be suitable for all traffic at low speeds. These holdups will not require a very long time to drive around. They are not an issue to me, I would not bother rescheduling.

The Kimberley got 639mm in 4 days.
Cannot get over the amount of rain. Here (Ballarat) the average annual rainfall is 635mm. The wettest month is only 72mm. Haven't really had any rain so far this year (43mm in Jan) with 25.4mm (1") in one day. That's a heavy fall here. I'm growing dried fruit. No water, tank is empty and I cannot bring myself around to using mains water on the garden.
