We nearly got caught in Marble Bar, years ago, in my other life - lucky we had off road camper trailer, and the 4by was pretty high. Truckies told us if we waited an hour we wouldn't get out.

We didn't get out!
It was back before the road from Marble Bar to the highway was sealed.
We intended a night in Marble Bar, just to say we'd been there. It rained. The main road north, and south, was closed. It stayed closed for several days.
Was a great thing to happen to us, because the smaller local roads were not closed, and the caravan park man gave us all sorts of ideas about places we could go.
Went out to old Corunna Downs base, Glen Herring Gorge, explored back tracks in the rugged ranges south of town. Found the area so scenic and interesting.
Have even been back a couple of times since!
