Go up the big hill to Wilton (Hume Freeway M31) then M7 right around the west of Sydney. There is 10kms of road (Cumberland Way?). Stick in the middle lane (behind the trucks) and follow signs to Newcastle. The M7 becomes the M2, turn left off at West Pennant Hills onto the A28 and then look for the M1 (Newcastle). Done it several times with van. There are tolls (M7, M2).

We are doing the reverse from a bit lower than Coffs and also staying at Corrimal Tourist Park in early Feb. Planning on just typing it into the GPS and leaving early on a Sunday.

I do that twice a year . Have My Corromal at Corimal & twice from Canberra.
As per what Rusty said But . I stay to the M7 the whole length . TOO Many lights & too many trucks on Cumberland.
It IS far easier on fuel & your gear , plus it is usually Top gear from Wilton to Pennant Hills Rd.
I also find coming North out of Sydney , first thing on Monday or Tuesday . When I go down for my weekend shows . I
head out of Coffs after lunch Wed & go through Syd after 9pm , then camp for the night & head to park on Thurs morn.
Both , Gong & ACT . I get back through Syd on Sun nite then camp nth of Newcastle , then pedal home on Mon.
Works for Moi.
Have a Safe trip.
