The boss and I, went to a brothers 50th wedding anniversary. on 30th December
The resort we stayed at had a narrow spiral staircase in each unit
I had 4 x low calorie light beers, 1 x glass of white wine, and one by ginger beer
As I climbed this narrow staircase to retire for the night, I wondered how the real drinkers would get on.
The boss fell on the staircase and strained her ankle
The boss had 1 x ginger beer, 2 x capucinos, and 2 x glasses of water
So let that be a lesson to you
Be careful what you drink
2nd January saw us at the first camp on the Nullarbor, where her swollen ankle had a blister which bust
The boss did not want to be away from civilisation, with the flies hovering around
4th January saw us at Kimba
So much for my slow and easy crossing
Damm the demon drink

Tony wrap the ankle in crepe bandage, not too tight, stops the flies, allows healing. Friend burnt the back of his leg with boiling hot black coffee - we put frozen peas on it to cool, then I wrapped it in said bandage, changed if every day - till we got to Kimba, funnily enough, off to the doctor - he was very pleased - no infection, and starting to heal - we kept it up till it healed properly. All good.

Sorry for the delay in replying Jules 47, I have been travelling
Thanks for that information, (although I already knew that procedure), it is the thought that counts Hopefully the info may be useful to someone else
Ice packs were used prior to the start of the road trip, on the morning of January 1 The son in law gave the boss an elastic ankle support, wrap around It was probably the ankle support which caused the blister
