Billy Graham's  daughter was interviewed on the  Early Show and  Jane Clayson asked her "How could God let  something like this happen?" (regarding the  attacks on Sept, 11, hurricanes and earth quakes. Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said "I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our  lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out.  How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?"  

In light of recent events...terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she  was murdered, her body found recently)  complained she didn't want prayer in our  schools, and we said OK.  Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school .... the Bible says thou shalt not kill,  thou shalt not  steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK. Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their  little personalities would be  warped and we might damage their self-esteem  (Dr. Spock's son  committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said OK.  Now we're asking ourselves why our children  have no  conscience, why they don't know right  from wrong, and  why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers,  their classmates, and themselves. Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can  figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with "WE REAP WHAT WE  SOW."

Funny how simple  it is for people to trash God  and then wonder  why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what  the Bible says.  Funny how you can  send 'jokes' through e-mail  and they spread  like wildfire but when you start  sending messages  regarding the Lord, people think twice about  sharing.  Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass  freely through cyberspace, but  public discussion  of God is suppressed in the school and  workplace.  Are you laughing? Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they WILL think, of you for sending it. Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

Look at the last vote we just had the majority voted Yes contrary to what we read in the Bible

 Nothing profound or insightful in that nonsense.   I want nothing to do with some entity that would allow children to endure the abuse handed out by people who tell any and all that they are Christians.   She should do some good by getting out there and trying to undo any part of the hurt exposed during the recent Royal commission.

I also thought there was some rule about posting Religious Bull.

It's just sad that everyone's experience with religion can be so different to create such conflicting positions which then create the angst often surrounding these posts, and precluding a reasonable and sensible discussion.

I just hope all have a happy and safe Christmas, and a safe, healthy and prosperous 2018. Lets all just treat each other how we would like to be treated ourselves, and see if that works out.

The sight of white evangelical voters in Alabama giving their overwhelming support to Roy S. Moore, the Republican candidate, despite accusations of racial and religious bigotry, misogyny and assaults on teenage girls, has deeply troubled many conservative Christians, who fear that association with the likes of Mr. Moore is giving their faith a bad name. The angst has grown so deep, Mr. Galli said, that he knows of "many card-carrying evangelicals" who are ready to disavow the label.

The evangelical brand "is definitely tarnished" by politicization from whatever side, Mr. Galli said on Wednesday. "No question about it."

Anne Graham Lotz: I say God is also angry when he sees something like this. I would say also for several years now Americans in a sense have shaken their fist at God and said, God, we want you out of our schools, our government, our business, we want you out of our marketplace. And God, who is a gentleman, has just quietly backed out of our national and political life, our public life. Removing his hand of blessing and protection. We need to turn to God first of all and say, God, we're sorry we have treated you this way and we invite you now to come into our national life. We put our trust in you. We have our trust in God on our coins, we need to practice it.

AISI, religion is programmed into the human genome.

Darwinian evolution contends that every organism has a survival instinct. If it did not, it would be extinct. Human beings have evolved to the point where we are able to contemplate our own mortality. We all accept that we will eventually die, but our survival instinct wants us to live forever. To this end, we invent the concept of eternal life and encapsulate it in an ideology we call "religion". In effect, religion represents the logical evolution of our survival instinct.

In short, evolution can explain religion, but religion can explain nothing.
