Sometimes commercialism grabs us. Advertising works so no wonder we have wish lists.
So like the rest of the great posts.
I'm with all the rest who wish for Health and Happiness to all Forumites and their families.

Just another day in this part of the world but I hope my wife and family back home enjoy the festive season its hard not being there with them at xmas but at least I will be at work and not sitting around feeling sorry for myself. John I really hope that you get your Xmas wish.
Stay safe everyone especially if you plan to be traveling at this time of year.
I posted the Jack Daniels bottle before I read the earlier posts. To Rocky and Rocket, I sincerely hope your Christmas wishes regarding your daughter and Strop come true. It's a cruel affliction and no doubt difficult to endure. I'm sure everyone's thoughts are with you.

Well originally it was supposed to be a Merry Christmas thread, but it quickly turned into something else.
Our thoughts are with you as well.

As I do not seem to miss, what I do not have
I would like to wish for health and happiness for everyone, with a special mention for Rocky, Rocket, and others on this forum, who have their own/family health problems

Yes that would be the greatest present on earth to those concerned, there's great medications coming along now I know from personal experience ,the greatest thing on earth is good health and good people around you when needed...
While I can sympathize with those who have health issues, (as indeed I have had), I'd like to lighten up the thread a bit by responding do DDs original post. I'd like a monopod, maybe a bit like a walking stick, but one that can steady my camera when I see something I'd like to remember. Don't know if it's been invented yet, but I'm hoping Santa can find one for me.
Anyway, best wishes and safe travel to all for this coming season.

I remember when I was a child I loved Christmas so much. We would get presents for our birthday and presents for Christmas and that was that. There was nothing else during the year so we really looked forward to Chrissie and the special gifts. I see a lot of kids these days that are forever getting presents throughout the year and it seems that Christmas means little to them. Add to that the corporate and retail greed and unfortunately Christmas is a bit sad these days. It is fun to catch up with family and friends but the spirit seems to be missing.
Maybe it is just me, but it ain't what it used to be.
