Since I have been in Oman I have managed to damage or lose a camera, a 6 month old MacBook Air and 2 phones if I continue at this rate I will have to hang around here for another year just to break even. I lost the Canon digital camera that I only bought the week before along with my company phone when I tried to get out of a small boat at a beach on an offshore island. Too bad the water was deeper than I thought and everything in my pockets drowned and never worked again. The other night I bumped a glass on the table while working on my 6 month old macbook and liquid entered the key board damaging the WiFi card. Unfortunately apple do not cover liquid damage and I believe that the minimum charge for this is $750 before they even start. To top it off last weekend I was speaking to someone on my iPhone 6 and sat it on the roof of my car while I did something else, about 20kms down the freeway I realised where I had left the phone so I backtracked but couldnt find it besides that it had no signal so it had probably been run over in the peak hour traffic.
I got a brand new like for like iPhone 6 over here for the equivalent of A$360 so I dont know if that was a good or bad buy, I paid near A$1000 for the one that I lost when I bought it 2 years ago in Australia.
